Transmission and Sonarr not working together anymore on OSX

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5054 - 04 Nov 2017
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 4.0.0
OS: MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.1
Debug logs: https://cl.ly/nmvb/Report.rtf
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here)
Description of issue: For some time now Transmission is not available in Sonarr … and when i try to download manualy a torrent it says is disabled …

Also in the settings i get this message:

I haven’t touch the settings in Transmission so there should be on default.

Thanks.

The fact that it reports the error when manually grabbing a release is a bug that will be fixed in the next release, but the underlying issue is that Sonarr failed to talk to Transmission at some point recently and disabled it temporarily. You can go to Settings: Download Clients and test Transmission to clear the error immediately otherwise it will clear on it’s own.

Thank you, Markus, i will await the update then.

What exactly do i need to change in Transmission and Settings?

Nothing, you need to press Test to re-test the client.

It’s still very stubborn … takes a while to spin the loading weel and the result is always the same: “failed”.

maybe the next update will solve my problem …

What do the logs show when you test it? Your previous log files showed an issue with looking up the hostname in DNS,which may have been set to hostname.

Please post the text file as-is not as an RTf file.

Hi Markus,

Is this ok?
https://d26dzxoao6i3hh.cloudfront.net/items/1E0s2q281N1I3C3J2S21/Sonarr.txt

Yes, that works. Based on the logs Transmission never responds to Sonarr’s request.

Is transmissions web API running on port 9091?
Can you connect to the Transmission web UI in your browser?

Yes, looks like i can …

I have no idea what happen… until a week ago everything was working fine … didnt do an update except to Sonarr. Maybe this update has some issues?

Sonarr and Transmission are both on the same system?

Your transmission settings in Sonarr show you’re using an IP, not localhost did your IP change?

yeah i tried that too, but now is on locahost on the Host field and still not working
And yes both are on the same machine

What do the logs show when you test it using localhost?

here’s the log with locahost:
https://cl.ly/nrNO/Sonarr.txt

Looks like it’s the exact same issue.

Does http://localhost:9091/transmission/rpc load in your browser?

Looks like you’re running mono 4.0, which is quite old, upgrading mono would be good regardless, upgrading to the latest version should be safe on your version of macOS

No, the link dosen’t work:

Ok so i went to this link and download the macOS one:

i drag it over the old one and install it, but it’s still sayng Mono 4.
i’m i doing something wrong?

How should i upgrade then … ?

That’s fine, it should show that.

You’d need to restart Sonarr after upgrading mono.

hmm i did restart Sonarr, i tryed also shut down Sonarr, restart OSX, remove Sonarr and put the new version in Application … it still looks like Mono 4…

Maybe this is the problem, that its stuck on Mono 4 ? Or maybe the OSX version is only on Mono 4 ?

I dont want to reinstall all of the settings and put again all the tv show … but maybe a clean install will solve this pesky issue?

You need to update mono, not Sonarr. http://www.mono-project.com/download/#download-mac

Great, that did the trick, now Transmission is working.
Thank you @markus101 for all your patience and good advices

Have a great weekend.
