Hello, I just recently updated to MacOS 10.13, fresh install. Upon installing and restoring Sonarr, I’ve gotten the following error:
Cannot install update because startup folder ‘/private/var/folders/ht/cp3hrhns1q17fl8xyb3n5xjh0000gn/T/AppTranslocation/2D24EEA7-EA8E-4D70-BB89-77464DC32D29/d/Sonarr.app/Contents/MacOS’ is in an App Translocation folder.
The app is located in the Applications folder, so I’m not quite sure why this is happening.
Someone suggested to look at this post below, but it’s not relevant because the app is already in the Applications folder
MacOS: 10.13
Gatekeeper: Disabled
Machine: Mac Mini Server Late 2011
I’m not aware of any changes to when apps are moved to the translocation folder, but it sounds like it was run, then moved to Applications after it was running.
Do you have the same issue if you stop Sonarr then run it from the Applications folder?
That’s strange, I never launched the app from the downloads folder. It downloaded the zip to the downloads folder. I unzipped and dragged the app to the Applications folder.
I’ve stopped the app, moved it out and back into the Applications folder, to the desktop, same problem. I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded, but the problem persists.
Well doing a complete uninstall and reinstall did the trick. The only thing I did different is download the original ZIP to the desktop instead of the dreaded ‘Downloads’ folder, then moved it to the Applications folder.
