Torrent with directory not auto-imported

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5252
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS: MacOS 10.14.1
Debug logs:
Description of issue:

Sonarr stopped importing some TV episodes downloaded via torrent.

When a TV episode got downloaded, if the torrent includes a directory (which contains the actual episode file, some info, and subtitle for eg) - Sonarr doesn’t seem to be able to recognize it and import the actual media file. Instead, what happened is that it will think that the download failed. I have the option to retry, but usually it will turn out the same - and I have to manually move the media file into my usual storage.

I notice that if the torrent is only downloading a single file, then the auto-import still works fine.
I don’t have the debug logs, but I’ll turn it on, and I’m sure this will happen again next week when new episodes come out. I was wondering is this behavior expected, or is it a possible bug?

thanks!
W

And the files downloaded are not archived/rar’d?

Sonarr won’t fail a download if it can’t import it, so there won’t be any failed downloading taking place.

The information from the queue in Sonarr (hover over the icon on the left) and ((debug logs)) will tell you more about why it wasn’t imported.

No, the file wasn’t archived or anything.

I will check the debug logs in a few days when new episodes come out and I will post an update here.

Thanks!

Ok, this happened again.
These are the debug logs I found:

I see the folder downloaded:
Supergirl.S04E06.720p.HDTV.x264-SVA[rarbg]
containing 3 files, the mkv, nfo, and RARBG.txt file.

In the calendar, that episode still shows up as red, as though it’s not downloaded.
How come it’s not able to detect that it’s for the Supergirl series?

thanks!

The unknown series rejection is for the previous release.

This log doesn’t show anything about the import, it’s for the grabbing of the release.

What does Sonarr show for that release on Activity: Queue?
What status is it in the download client?

So I tried to download it again (via Auto search), so now things looks rather odd.
But the same thing is happening again for the walking dead s09e07, I have just left it there as is.
I’ve uploaded two screenshots of the calendar page and activity queue.
In the download client it’s marked as done and not even listed in the active queue anymore.

If it’s not in Activity: Queue that means it’s either removed from the download client or Sonarr can’t see it (moved to a different category).

Does your download client remove completed downloads (or when they hit a very low seeding goal)?

Yes, it is removed from the download client (but it’s left on disk). Let me play with the settings to make sure it stays around a while. How often does Sonarr check the download client to check when the downloads are completed?

Thanks

Or is it better to make the download client just leave the torrent, and let Sonarr clean it up instead?

Yes, i’s better to have Sonarr clean it up in case it can’t import it right away for any reason. You’ll need Remove Completed Downloads set to true and the seeding goals for the torrent need to be met (the exact rules will depend on the client).

Indeed, this was the problem. It all works again now.

Thanks so much!
