Hey all,

Just found out about nzbdrone and quite happy to see alternatives to sickbeard. Sickbeard is slow and becoming outdated. Furthermore as a .net developer myself i’m sure we can be friends.

Having not installed it yet, I do wonder about 1 thing: Torrent support. Looking at the name and the lack of mentioning torrents on the website, my initial thought is that torrents aren’t supported. However here and there i see a thing called NzbDrone Xtender, and on screenshots of that application I do see links to torrent sites.

Are torrents supported, and if not, how much trouble would it be to add it? If it’s not there because the current devs just don’t have the time for it, i’m more than happy to help out. Though I hope the structure is well organized and adding new search and download systems won’t be too much rewriting because my time is also quite limited. Also interested in helping out with Anime support as thats what I currently download the most using sickbeard.

Hey @MythJuha neither torrent or anime support is in the current version, these are both things we want to implement, but due to time constraints we have not.

I won’t make any promises but i’ll have a look at it what I can do to help out. I really want to get rid of sickbeard, but nzb’s are getting me nowhere anymore because of all the takedown requests.

Any directions that could speed up me getting familiar with the code and where to begin making a torrent searcher would be welcome.
