Tiered Quality Search

I’m not sure if anyone else already requested it but I would love to have a option of saying that 1080p is the quality search and if it can’t find that quality then after x amount of time it will find a 720p.

I know right now it will choose the highest from what it finds but the concern is if 720p gets submitted in minutes before a 1080p and thus downloads the lower quality.

Use a delay profile, applies to RSS only, not searches, but will wait before grabbing the 720p version.

Got it, thanks.

Any chance of it coming to search?

Not likely, if you’re searching for something that would fall under the delay its likely you want it now, otherwise you’d let Sonarr handle it automatically.

Hmm so here’s an example that happened yesterday.

1 item came available in 720p and 1080p came out 6 hours later
another item similarly came out in 720p and the 1080p came out 11 hours later

I don’t mind waiting the extra 11 hours to get the 1080p but i just don’t know how to set it up so it waits?

I would set the quality to just 1080p but there are a bunch of shows that don’t air in 1080p where 720p is the only option

Did you setup a [delay profile] (https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Delay-Profiles)? That wiki page explains how they work and should get you going.

Ah there we go… Found exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
