Description of issue: I started Sonarr for the first time in a few weeks this morning. When I tried to load the GUI/Web App, it didn’t connect and I noticed that nzbdrone.exe wasn’t running anymore. The icon did appear in the taskbar, but then disappeared. Now, I can’t get the app to load at all. I keep getting the error “This app can’t run on your PC”. I’ve never seen this error. I’ve been running Sonarr successfully for several years. I tried downloading a new version of the app from sonarr.tv and receive the following error: “C:\Users\xxxxxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\MAZQaiwv.exe.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read”. I tried saving the file locally, then running it, and I get the same first error: “This app can’t run on your PC”. I am running in Developer Mode. I was previously running Sideload Mode, which worked forever.
Not sure what you mean by either of these things.
Are you still unable to download Sonarr from https://sonarr.tv?
Which browser are you using?
Sounds like your browser isn’t saving the file. Permissions maybe?
This is more of a general Windows issue. It can be a few things. Overly sensitive Windows settings or trying to run 64 bit program on 32 but Windows to name a few. I suggest you google “This app can’t run on your PC”.
Hi, Mark. Thanks for the reply.
I am running Windows 10 in Developer Mode, which trusts all third party apps and lets them run. So, it’s not a security issue on my PC that’s stopping the app from running.
Update - I’ve been successful at re-downloading/re-intalling Sonarr. I can get it to work, but only temporarily. I’ve been watching the install folder when the app is running and I notice that files just disappear. nzbdrone.exe just got deleted while I was typing this. Can you point me in the direction of any setting which might take this kind of action?
Thanks.
Dean
Check any anti-virus/anti-malware apps logs/quarantine, something is incorrectly detecting a problem and removing it by the sounds of it.
That only applies to apps from the Microsoft Store. It doesn’t rule out a security issue as Sonarr isn’t a UWP app. If the fule is getting deleted it sounds like anti-virus, like Markus said.
