Description of issue: Sonarr does not show that this series already exists when infact it does. I’m assuming Sonarr knows the alias of the series but will not inform me that I already have it.

Those looks the like the same series with different names, one is correct, one is a dupe that shouldn’t be used, best to look up with TVDB ID it is and add that one in this case.
You are correct. They are the same series. But to say one is correct, one is a dupe. Why is that?
Can the dupe be removed from search list? Or at the very least, have Sonarr compensate for the name.

Because people add duplicate junk to The TVDB all the time, sometimes with the exact same name, sometimes not.
Based on IDs it looks like https://www.thetvdb.com/series/the-haunting-of-hill-house is the dupe, possibly created because the original (https://www.thetvdb.com/series/345246) was locked.
Sonarr has no idea they’re the same series (how would it?) so it can’t tell you you’ve already added it. We can look at removing the dupe from the results, but it’s not going to solve the problem if someone adds another dupe.
Ah, I see. The two series actually have two different series ID’s. I can see the confusion.
It seems the official title will be The Haunting
