Strange/unwanted rejection

Hi,

Just tried to manually look for a tv show special episode.
This is what i saw

First the size maximum seems wrong to me (btw quality is hdtv-720p, hidden by the dialog)

Also why is it telling episode was not requested. I am just requesting it

Btw if i look at the 490.9MB rejection, it tells me SDTV is not wanted which is true, but does not tell me episode was not requested.

Let me know if i can give more info.

Thanks

Special searching isn’t the greatest due to the various formats that are used, usually just the episode title, but sometimes S00Eyy or SxxEyy.

The file size rejection happens there because Sonarr doesn’t have a S05E00 in its list of episodes, really it should probably say the episode is unknown.

Thats because it doesn’t match the one you searched for, Sonarr has no way of knowing S00E02 is the same as S05E00.

Sonarr finds a title match after it tries via SxxEyy matching, which exists for the other releases, but not the SD one.

Thanks for all those explanations @markus101
I forgot to actually say what really bugged me. I totally understand the algos behind all that. But if sonarr find a release, and the one that i actually want (the first one), then i would like to have the possibility to download it from sonarr.
But the “download” button is missing from the 2 first releases.

I understand it comes from the fact that the name does not match the episode “number”. I guess it found it thanks to the episode name. But then it should let me download it, even if i am the one to have to rename it after.

My point: if a search result is shown, i should always be able to trigger its download.

Thanks

Unless Sonarr can figure out the series and episode it currently won’t let you, but its something we’re going to look at: https://trello.com/c/T7A2beBJ/892-ability-to-force-grab-for-unknown-series-episode-s-in-manual-search
