Sometimes I like to download files manually from the nzb website to sabnzbd.
But Sonarr thinks the files are not the right quality format and deletes them.
Can I get Sonarr to stop deleting files completely?
I don’t want it moving to a recycling folder.
You’ll have to be more specific, Sonarr doesn’t remove downloads in sabnzbd if the quality is unexpected, it only removed them if the download failed, or if the download was successfully imported.

Was the file imported into the series folder and deleted there? or was it deleted in sab (intermediate or completed folder)? what does the logs say? do you have a sonarr category configured in sab? what kind of behaviour did you expect, sonarr leaving the download alone or import it into the series folder? To repeat, did you check the sabnzbd and sonarr logs to see what actually happened?
File was imported to series folder and deleted by sonarr, Sonarr history says file was deleted to import an upgrade.
How do I stop Sonarr doing this?
All I want is Sonarr not to delete the episodes, no matter what equality it is.
There must be an option to stop deleting files but can’t find it, very frustrating, please help!!
Sonarr will only track one copy of an episode and will delete an existing file in order to upgrade the quality. If you want to download better qualities and not have them deleted, Sonarr cannot do that at this time.
If you don’t want Sonarr to download upgraded files, you will need to adjust your profile accordingly. See the Profiles page on the wiki for more information.
It doesnt even do that, i got 720p episodes deleted with the same delete message and an upgraded episode wasnt even downloaded
Clearly theres bugs. Can you please add dont delete any episodes option in next version.
No, there won’t be that option.
Sounds like a misconfiguration on your side, do you have SAB or another tool sorting downloads into the series folder?
Enable debug logging and see why Sonarr is deleting it, it will report the full path of the file its trying to import and which one it is delete.
