Sonarr won't automatically add torrents I added to rtorrent

So, I added some stuff to rtorrent, added rtorrent and it is enabled in sonarr, I have added a bunch of stuff manually to rtorrent that is missing being monitored but missing in sonarr, yet it doesn’t pick up anything. Directory is correctly pointed towards the rtorrent folder, If I add a torrent through sonarr to rtorrent, everything works fine. But if I manually add a torrent to rtorrent, sonarr doesn’t notice. I have tried this with MANY TORRENTS. It is not just poorly named torrents. How can I fix this? (Yes, the torrents added matches the label given to sonarr )

I’m not following what you mean here. Is the series in Sonarr? (whether or not the episode is monitored is irrelevant to Sonarr, monitored just controls grabs from RSS feed/season searches).

We also need some more information:

Sonarr version (exact version):
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS:
((Debug logs)):
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here)

The series is added in sonarr. I have rtorrent client as a download client in sonarr. I have successfully downloaded and imported torrents when using a torrent site as an indexer(and searching through sonarr). But, I want to manually download the torrent file from a torrent site, add to rtorrent manually, and then have sonarr realize I added a torrent manually and monitor it. It is not doing this.

Sonarr Version - 2.0.0.4855
Mono Version - 5.0.1.1
Debug - https://pastebin.com/F52QwTMF
Trace - https://pastebin.com/HnefCWwL
More Trace if needed - https://pastebin.com/cgrHGYks

Based on the logs, Sonarr sees a single torrent coming back from rTorrent, but which one it is/what it does with it isn’t logged.

Can you clear the log files in Sonarr, restart Sonarr and then post the ((trace logs)) after a couple minutes? That’ll give us a complete picture of how Sonarr is processing them. Of course rtorrent will need a torrent you expect Sonarr to track already loaded.

We’ll also need to know which release you expect Sonarr to handle.

Trace: https://pastebin.com/6NSL5wP6

Torrent Names: Heartland.S02.720p.BluRay.DD5.1.x264 && Will.S01E03.HDTV.x264

Suppose to go to Heartland S02 and Will S01E03

Are these torrents that Sonarr has already processed before (imported from a download client)?

I don’t see anything in the logs, that indicates a problem, but there is some things that aren’t currently logged that we’ll need to look at logging so we can determine why.

No, these have never been processed before.

I have tried 10 different brand new torrents, same issue. I tried new series I just added, tried some older series as well, same issue.

Also, as a side note, I am using quickbox… not sure if that would make a difference for anything?

I’m not familiar with it, but as long as it’s the same underlying rtorrent it shouldn’t be a problem.

Can you post a screenshot of your rtorrent settings and the torrents (with labels) in rtorrent?

Which rtorrent settings would you like? Lots of tabs there. Note: I also tried having no category in sonarr

The category is required otherwise Sonarr will only ever track things it added.

Going to add some more logging in the next release, but for the moment can you double check the category in Sonarr doesn’t have any spaces at the end?

If the category is fine (it looks fine as far as I can see) we’ll have to wait for the additional logging to see if it’s being rejected for another reason.

Thanks … I just tried using deluge instead and it worked, so I guess I will go with that for now, but don’t understand why it won’t work for rtorrent.

So, one more issue about this, sorry…

My single episode worked fine, but sonarr wasn’t able to import the season. Even though Heartland.S02.720p.BluRay.DD5.1.x264-NTb is very standard format. Does it not handle complete season?

What does it show in Activity: Queue for the episodes in that season? Hover over the icon on the left for warnings/errors.

None are in queue, I guess Sonarr just can’t parse that TV show season, though it is in standard format… Anyway to manually import it?

Wanted: Missing and Manual Import
