Sonarr has always properly notified Plex when a new episode has been downloaded and kicks off a library update. However, for some unknown reason, over the last few months any newly added episode is visible within Plex, but it is not properly matched. Any subsequent library scan identifies the episode and adds it up, but there is pretty much always one unmatched episode in Plex until the next time Sonarr snatches something or I initiate a library scan. There’s always one episode in the “queue,” so to speak.
Have there been any changes to when Sonarr notifies Plex in the move process? Since Sonarr is handling the media management, I don’t think sab would really have anything to do with this. Nothing has changed with my Plex setup… I’m not suggesting this lies with Sonarr, as unRAID is adding another layer of complexity, but hoping maybe someone has encountered this before and knows how to fix it. Or maybe there is a way to delay the Plex notification by a set number of seconds?
In develop we changed when Sonarr will update a specific section if the series has been found in it, but not any other sections, previously Sonarr would update the entire section if the series wasn’t found, even if it was found in another section, beyond that nothing has changed.
Sonarr still notifies Plex that the file is on disk after the file is moved successfully (at the same time it sends the other notifications).
I’ve seen this a couple times as well, but nothing that I can pinpoint to a specific cause, I’ve wondered if its because two downloads are notified for around the same time, but nothing concrete there, just a thought.
I am on develop but I don’t think that change would be causing this (the change being that Sonarr will only have Plex update a TV section and not a Movie section, right?).
I am finding this is happening regardless of if it is a single download or multiple episodes (of the same or different show) is downloading. To me it seems like a timing issue, because Plex is seeing it and listing it as a recently added episode, but it’s just not identifying/matching it. But it is even getting a screen grab, which is the weirdest part about it.
So let’s say I have one of these unidentified episodes showing in Plex. Sonarr downloads another episode, the previously unidentified episode is now correctly displaying, and this newly downloaded episode is now listed as a recently added, unidentified episode. If the move has completed successfully (which should be essentially instantaneous since it’s on an SSD in my case) before Sonarr notifies Plex to kick off a library update, then I really have no idea why this would be happening. Nor am I seeing anything like this in other aspects of Plex (movies, for example).
