I have used Sonarr for some time with uTorrent and my 4tb external hard drive connected all on the same machine. I now am a proud owner of the NVIDIA Shield TV, and am preparing for an update that will soon allow me to run a Plex Server/Viewer at the same time on it. I managed to get my VPN to automatically connect at boot, and am wondering if there is a way to push Sonarr to the mobile version of a torrent client (on my Shield TV), which would then download to my external hard drive (connected to my Shield TV)? This would essentially convert my Shield TV into an always-on torrent box that automatically updates my downloaded shows and displays the updates with my Plex server…Is this currently possible? It does not have to be with uTorrent, just have all of the working pieces in order. Thanks!
Sonarr can talk to any supported download client (or use Torrent Blackhole), but it would need access to the files in order to sort them (both the completed download file and the sorted files), which may the hurdle that blocks you the most, since it’d need to be something that Sonarr can access like a local filesystem.
If you want Sonarr on there as well, I’d say thats not possible as full mono would need to be available and some way to run it.
this may be posible with next shield update. then it wil get support for windows file sharing.
The Nvidia Shield 3.2 update was released this week, with the mentioned Windows sharing enabled. Several people have verified that it works quite well as a Plex Server now, even transcoding multiple 1080p streams simultaneously.
Any possiblity here of Sonarr working? This update is a major boon for HTPC users!
Thx!
