Sonarr & Synology (DSM 6.0)

Sonarr version (exact version): 20150731-8
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 4.2.2.30-7
OS:
((Debug logs)):
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here)
Description of issue: Sonarr is downloading content but it is not initiating the indexing with DSM on my synology NAS. I have the DS1815+ with the latest DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 1. I’m also using Sonarr version 2.0.0.4326.

Can you please advise why it is not initiating auto indexing after files are downloaded and moved into indexed folders?

Anyone have any solutions or suggestions regarding this issue? Is anyone else having the same issue?

Is it actually importing the downloaded episodes into your series folders?

There’s a Connect->Synology Indexer that signals synoindex when stuff got imported, but afaik it only properly handles videostation and not dlna browsing (that’s a bug we haven’t gotten around to fixing yet) due to synoindex not automatically indexes parent folders even when you point it at a video inside a folder.

Hi Taloth! Thank you for responding.

It is doing everything its supposed to, searches and sends the download to SABnzbd and after successfully downloading, it renames and moves the file accordingly. But when i go into VideoStation or the Samsung tv app for Synology, it doesn’t appear. I have to log into my NAS, and manually select index media to activate indexing.

I did raise a ticket with Synology Support regarding this but they referred me to you guys as the indexing works fine if i use File Manager to add new stuff.

But do you have that ‘Synology Indexer’ stuff configured in Sonarr?

I only could find this old issue: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/issues/916 and https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/issues/577
But we never got more info on it. I’d need to poke one of our regulars with syno’s to work out the proper cmdlines…

And Synology is right, it’s not their issue coz Sonarr isn’t an official package. At least, not until we can prove synoindex does something weird

We’ll have to check whether the synoindex cmdline options we use are still valid on DSM6.

When you say “do you have that ‘Synology Indexer’ stuff configured in Sonarr?” what exactly do you mean? Is there any information on this?

This link; https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/issues/577 - outlines my dilemma but my dilemma isn’t with Media Server, its with Video Station and the Samsung Video Station app.

I had no idea that was available. This must be my issue. I have just set it up and will check to see if it has rectified the issue. I’ll report back.

excellent, it should work with video station, so let me know if it doesn’t. please note it will only notify synoindex of new imports, it won’t work retroactively.

I can confirm that what Taloth suggested for infect the issue. After successfully setting the Synology Indexer, everything started to appear automatically on Video Station and Samsung TV App.

Much appreciated.

Hey! Could you give some more detail on how you set up the synoindex feature in sonarr? I am not sure what I should be putting in the “name” field.

You can put whatever you would like in the ‘name’ field. Call it Synology Indexer ?!
