I recently discovered Sonarr and installed it (3 times actually, because I messed up the link configuration trying to make it accessible from remote locations).
A few details regarding server configuration:
OS: Windows 7 x86
Location of TV Series: G:\Download\TvSeries
Download client setup in Sonarr: Torrent Blackhole
So I configured all my series to be monitored for future episodes and all series have the path G:\Download\TvSeries\ configured.
So in the night when the files are downloaded by the torrent client they ended up in different folders as per release configuration.
In the morning I find my files moved in folders like:
G:\Download\TvSeries\Arrow\release folder or file
Can I somehow setup Sonarr in a way that it will stop moving the files around ? This messes up my Plex that is scanning all the tiem the HDD and not to mention there is a mess in all my files.
Also is Sonarr able to download (through a plugin or something) subtitles ?
What is the best way to setup Sonarr to be accessible from outside of my LAN by a link like: myname.ddns.net:8989 ?
If you need more informations from me in order to be able to help me please let me know.
You can turn off Completed Download Handling in Sonarr to stop it from processing files, but files will appear as missing since they were never imported.
You’ll need to open a port in the Windows firewall and your router to make it accessible remotely.
I forgot to mention that on that machine I have the No IP DUC running and maintaining the DDNS name. Plex and other services are accessible using the ddns name and port from outside of the network. Sonarr is the single service that has issues on this.
I am back, so I’m trying to disable the below option and I am not able to.
Completed Download Handling
Enable
I know that this will make Sonarr consider the episodes missing, but I can keep track of the episodes in Plex and Xonarr just to download them (push them to torrent client).
Can anyone recommend me what should be the best settings for 720p.HDTV series ? Now I saw that most of the files have double the framerate and 1.5 GB
No, they need to be in Sonarr’s library for them to be available to it. Most people have Sonarr sort the files and have Plex pointed at the sorted files.
Ok, I will try to leave Sonarr do it’s job for a while altough when it moves my episodes he doesn’t pick up the subtitles too.
Now I remain with the following questions:
How can I disable ,Completed Download Handling" (in case I am not satisfied with him moving my files around)
Based on the above settings, what should I do to be able to access Sonarr from outside of the network ?
At some point I succeded to solve that but I had a funny link (http://myname.ddns.net:8989/myname.ddns.net/). I put the ddns domain in the field URL Base and it saved the domain like /myname.ddns.net
What are the best Quality settings for 720p HDTV releases ? I tried to put the aprox same size as the episodes from the disk but I ended up with 1280x720 files with 47.952fps (1.91 GB)
Is somehow Sonarr able to download subtitles too ? Or can anyone recommend me a good automated tool for this task ?
So unfortunately I am not able to disable ,Completed Download Handling" in settings. I click on Save and nothing happens (no confirmation message is received). I go into another menu, I come back and the setting as unchanged.
Regarding subs I understand, thank you.
Regarding Quality I will keep look into it, maybe I’ll find something useful.
Regarding the quality I just searched for a normal 720p HDTV release and I split 1.11 GB to 45 min (average duration of a TV episode) and then multiplied by 60.
Also I managed to solv the connect from outside LAN as well.
I will reply with an update after the next download to tell you how it works )
