Sonarr, SABnzbd and openmediavault?

Hi,

I currently have Sonarr setup (on my MacBook Pro - eventually to be replaced with a dedicated Mac mini) with SABnzbd which copies my downloads to my Plex Media Server library on an External USB hard drive.

I have a raspberry pi 3, which I was thinking about installing openmediavault onto, and turning the External Hard Drive into a NAS.

Would it be possible to point Sonarr to the NAS hard drive connected to the raspberry pi? This would save me having to have the hard drive physically connected to the laptop. This won’t be as much of an issue when I get the Mac mini, but I would like to keep my laptop as portable as possible at the moment.

Thanks,
Stewart

Yes it’s possible, you just need to mount the drive on your laptop and tell Sonarr to move the files there.

Ok perfect. Do you think this setup would be quick enough to stream the files back to my Mac, before Plex serves them to my TV?

The networking would probably be the most limiting, probably worth testing before you go all in.

Perfect, thanks.

Is there any easy way to backup my current settings before I go changing things?

Yes, there is a ((Backup)) wiki page for that.
