Sonarr Running at 130% CPU Consistently

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.4855
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 5.0.1.1
OS: OSX 10.12.5
((Debug logs)): I’ve run a full trace log for 15 minutes and can pm dbox link as I’ve seen done in a similar thread. I think I need to have PM enabled first though…

Description of issue: Activity Monitor is showing Sonarr running at 130% consistently, it’s causing my machine to heat up and in turn throttling my fans. Nothing is currently downloading. I have about 17 shows monitored and 4 that are airing weekly.

You already can since you’ve browsed the forum enough.

I checked the logs, I’m not seeing anything that indicates it’s doing stuff it shouldn’t.

A few things we can try:

  1. Check running commands
  • Settings->General->ApiKey copy it.
  • Browse to http://localhost:8989/api/command?apikey={apikey} (or a different url if that’s applicable for you)
  • The result is a JSON array of all commands currently running, most of the time it’s empty. If it’s not, PM me the result.
  1. Did you try restart Sonarr? It might help to see a trace log from startup, at least, if after restart the problem occurs again. If it doesn’t until later then we’ll need to investigate when exactly it starts to peak.

  2. Is there anything unusual about your system? mounted drives, cloud drives, VPN, anti-virus, things like that? Just being thorough so we don’t have any surprises.

Hey Taloth,

Thanks for your help. It has inexplicably stopped this behaviour. Not sure what was happening but it now runs at 0% when not in use. Thanks again for all the great work you and the team do!

Ok, good to hear. if it happens again you know what to do.
