Description of issue:
Hi! I got a question… I don’t keep my PC on 24/7 so when Sonarr checks RSS feeds it might (and does a lot) miss the episode that aired over the night, so I run a check for missing episodes and it finds them, and puts them in the ‘Wanted’ tab, but annoyingly they are not downloaded until I go there and do manual search again. Is there a way to make Sonarr run a check for missing/aired episodes and download them automatically without the RSS?
No, Sonarr will automatically attempt to fill in gaps with RSS feeds that were missed when it wasn’t running though, but that’s not always possible and they will be missing (Sonarr logs when it can’t fill in the gap). Check your logs to see if there are any warnings related to that or any errors that prevented Sonarr from connecting to the indexers/download client.
There were no errors, only an info log that last 100 RSS entries were retrieved and 0 episodes from my library were found. Can I have Sonarr retrieve much greater number of RSS entries then?
Not in a single page.
If your indexer supports paging Sonarr and there is a gap Sonarr will go back and get more results. If you run RSS after it ran recently it won’t need to page and will only grab 100 items.
Which indexer(s) are you using?
I’m only using rarbg as that is what I was using before Sonarr.
Doesn’t look like RARBG supports paging, so you’re limited to the last 100 results.
Which one should I add to have the functionality?
KAT was the only public one that I recall supporting paging, but they’re gone (just some incomplete knockoffs in their place). Anything that can be added through Jackett or Jackett Public supports paging on Sonarr’s side, whether they support paging in Jackett though, I’m not sure.
I’m afraid I don’t have access to any private trackers as I never had any need for them. None of the indexer presets available in Sonarr support paging? Can you recommend any that’s easy to get into/focused on TV shows? https://github.com/Jackett/Jackett/blob/master/README.md
Or better yet, is there a way to automate the go into ‘Wanted’ tab -> click 'Search all missing" thing and make it run periodically? I can see Sonarr supports custom scripts?
None of the public ones (except the dead KAT).
I have no idea what the difficulty of getting into any of those private trackers are.
Custom scripts are executed when files are imported or renamed, not arbitrarily. You can use the [API] (https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/API) to do that, though you don’r want to do that often if there are pages of missing items. You’d be best off getting the recently aired missing items from the API and searching for the episodes.
