Sonarr is not automatically searching for torrents

I have setup Sonarr (for torrents only) and I have it working with my download client. I have all of my preferred shows setup in my “Series”, where to download to, look for at, where to store completed, naming, size, must contain, not contain etc…It all works beautifully when I choose an episode to download.

Here is my problem. I just did this last night so obviously I am in the middle of TV shows seasons. After I watch a show I delete it so there weren’t any shows on my computer for Sonarr to find so everything that has passed is listed as missing, that’s not a big deal. But tonight’s shows were also listed as missing. When I choose both automatic or manual search for tonight’s missing shows it found plenty of torrents and sent them to my download client and pulled them down. Why didn’t Sonarr do this automatically when I opened it? All the shows are on the Sonarr calender for today so I know it knows about them. I believe I set it up correctly. What am I missing? Do I have to choose each show each day and select the automatic or manual search?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What is your RSS sync interval set to?
Do you has RSS enabled for your indexer(s)?

Sonarr doesn’t search for episodes on its own, it relies on RSS feeds to do most of the work: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/FAQ#how-does-sonarr-find-episodes

Thanks for replying markus101:

The “Enable RSS Sync” is set to “Yes” in all of the torrent “Indexers”.

How do I set the RSS sync interval? And wouldn’t the first sync no matter what the interval happen automatically when I open Sonarr?

Found the sync interval and it is set to 15.

Also are you using Kickass as a torrent indexer?

If so make sure you can access the website, i noticed this was an issue for mine as KAT is blocked by ISP’s.

I have another post with the web address that works for KAT.

If you’re shutting down/sleeping the computer that runs Sonarr and items are no longer on the RSS feed by the time Sonarr checks it, it will miss it. It will attempt to search for missing episodes since it last ran, but its not always the case.

((Debug log)) files would be the next thing to look at.
