Sonarr initial setup with Synology - noob

Hello Sonarr amigos…

I’m beyond frustrated and looking for some assistance. I just received my Synology DS1515+ and am attempting to set up Sonar and Transmission to auto download torrents, rename the files, and move them to the folders of my choice. Sounds easy…

I have successfully installed Sonarr and Transmission. Sonarr recognizes the files that I copied over to my downloads folder, but it will not rename the files, even when I try to do it manually. I can download files manually to my media folders using Download Station, but Transmission attempts yield “Error: Permission denied…” Clearly I have a permissions issue, but I have spent over 13 hours researching this. I’ve read every possible forum post and link I can find and haven’t found anything even remotely helpful. Some posts say to SSH into synology and edit reg files or something else crazy, surely that’s not the solution here? I simply cannot figure out how to fix this issue. I’m blown away that there isn’t a tutorial out there somewhere that walks you through this setup process. If there is, I’m apparently too dumb to find it.

I can’t even find the error logs (I stumbled upon them once, but can no longer find them now). I also cannot figure out how to SSH into my Synology box. I feel like a complete imbecile here.

I’ve read to create a user for my apps (which I did, I called it ‘apps’) and I’ve set R/W permissions to pretty much everything I can find in my users and my groups. I can’t seem to add Sonarr or Transmission to my users or groups though, as they don’t pop up when I try to add them.

Please help  Thank you in advance!

you need to give read and write acces to the group sc-media for the folders you want to use with sonarr, this can be done with the synology webinterface (dsm).

Thank you MOUL, this is what I needed  I can now download to the correct folders!
