Sonarr doesn't find a show that is listed in TVDB

Description of issue:
Hi!

I looked into filing a “Sonarr Scene Naming Exceptions”, but I saw one exception request that had the same problem as I’m having now and the filer had been directed to the forum, so I’m posting directly here instead of making a request.

I’m trying to add an old Finnish TV show named “Tankki Täyteen” that is already downloaded (just setting Sonarr up).
The show is listed in TVDB with ID:82134, but for some reason, Sonarr doesn’t find it when importing an existing series from the disc.

Any help would be appreciated! :slight_smile:

It doesn’t have an English title so Sonarr won’t be able to find it (currently Sonarr requires the series to have an English title on TheTVDB).

Okay. Is it because of the umlaut in the title? (ä)

Because Sonarr did find an another Finnish show (Reinikainen - no umlauts) just fine.

I have the same problem with this swedish tv-show

It does not show up in sonarr. How can i contribute to fix this?

@gabbe222 That’s coz it has a different name in english: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=84001&lid=7

But it’s lacking episode titles too, and I don’t remember if that’s a problem.

I’m having the same trouble with Top Gear America. It’s in thetvdb but shows up in Sonarr as Top Gear USA, not the same show.

Top Gear America or Top Gear (US)? Either way, it’s kinda off topic for this thread coz the OP was talking about some Finnish show.

So should I create another thread with the exact same title for my issue just because the first poster in the topic had a Finnish language issue?

It’s not the same issue, regardless of the result being similar, one is the series is has a different name for the series in English. Your issue is that the search result doesn’t return the result you’re expecting (which is because TVDB doesn’t return the result).

You can add it by TVDB ID though, which is mentioned in the FAQ and also in the UI
