Sonarr does not launch after reinstall on Mac OS

I had a previous installation of NZBDrone on Mac OS that I uninstalled previously (removed contents of Applications folder and backed up externally the .config folder).

Now, after downloading Sonarr.app and moving that into the Applications folder and launching it, Sonarr.app appears as a running process in Activity Monitor.app, but I can’t access the GUI in Safari, and the .config folder has not been recreated since reinstallation. So my guess is that the Mac OS process is running but something is preventing Sonarr from actually starting up.

At one point or another during all of this, can’t remember exactly, I was presented with a Mono update wizard and I did complete that, although I’m not very familiar with it. Is there any way I can check that I have the correct version installed correctly?

Unfortunately I can’t provide any logs because they don’t exist yet in the .config folder…

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

If the config file doesn’t exist Sonarr isn’t running, you could try to run it directly by opening it up by running NzbDrone.exe through mono.

The instructions to do so should be on the wiki, you’ll need to use terminal and go into Sonarr.app.

Just clued in that I started having problems when I installed the El Cap preview. Could this be the culprit?

Yes there is a thread on this: El Capitan and Sonarr - oops
