Sonarr does not download new episodes with periods

Sonarr does not automatically find new episodes on rss scan, when going into the season list of episodes, and choose manual search it gives a list of episodes that match the same one ie: s01e01 but the only difference between the name of the episode in season list and the ones found, the found ones have periods between each word in the title of the episode. If I choose to download the episode it completes correctly.

Thank you for your help,

Please read the ((FAQ)), it covers how Sonarr finds episodes and some information on what an RSS Sync is (which is not a search).

The period in the series title isn’t causing any issues here. If Sonarr really couldn’t match the series because of the period vs the space then you wouldn’t be able to manually grab it (in Sonarr) because it wouldn’t have linked it to the correct series and episode.

If you look at ((debug logs)) you will see everything Sonarr processed during an RSS Sync a lot of whixh will be for things you’ve never heard of because it’s the latest posts, not only limited to things you want.

I just confirmed by doing a manual import that sonarr does not recognize series with periods between words. At least not in some cases. I tried doing a manual import on a complete series as it was orginally downloaded (and not automatically imported). Every episode was marked as rejected, unknown series. I removed the periods from one file name and it worked.

We’d need to see ((debug logs)) to investigate that further.
