It’s a general question I just want to understand how it works.I’m downloading episode images.
Now http://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=289079 s02e10 airs today 04:00 according to Sonarr.
There is a image on thetvdb but Sonarr fails to download it.
Another example http://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=272644
Sonarr downloads for s03e03 and s03e04 same poster (the one from s03e04). I’ve tried few times refreshing s03e03 but still getting wrong poster.
Further more with the same show. All episodes have images but Sonarr fails to download for s03e09 and s03e10.
I thought it’s because air date is today 03:45 and 04:00 but s03e08 has poster even thought air date is today 03:00.
So, what’s wrong?

By fails I mean it won’t download the image. There was a file for it on disk, there was no error in log.
Today I’ve refreshed the show in Sonarr and the file was successfully downloaded.
12 Monkeys show: I’ve removed s03e03 image and refreshed the show. Sonarr still downloads wrong image (I will provide logs later). s03e09 won’t download image, s03e10 downloaded image after refreshing show.
That likely means Skyhook (our TVDB proxy) didn’t have the information, likely because it was cached (1 hour cache).
TVDB is providing the wrong image via their API, it’s not the exact same image as S03E04, but close.
