SOLVED "[file] has a runtime of 0, is it a valid video file" on Asustor ADM

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.4146
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 4.2.2.30/996df3c
OS: Asustor Data Manager (ADM) version 2.6.1.R5H1
((Debug logs)) (posted to hastebin or similar): http://hastebin.com/rokozocufu.1c
Description of issue:

I have Sonarr setup with Transmission and NzbGet on an Asustor NAS. Everything was working great but a while ago (don’t know exacly when) Sonarr stopped importing competed downloads. I see messages in the log saying “[file] has a runtime of 0, is it a valid video file?”.

I tried finding the Mediainfo version, but I don’t know where to find it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is it only some files or all files that are failing to import?

Runtime of 0 means Sonarr wasn’t able to get the runtime from the file using mediainfo, sometimes that due to the file itself or sometimes its changes that are in new files and mediainfo needs to be updated.

It’s happening with all files

Is there a package for your device or did you install mediainfo manually?

If you move a file that was previously imported by Sonarr to another location and use manual import to import it, does it work?

In any event you’ll likely need to upgrade mediainfo, if a there is a package for Sonarr for your that may also come with media info that can be updated by the maintainer.

I installed Sonarr with a package for the device, and did not install mediainfo specifically, so I assume it is included in the Sonarr package.

Sonarr updated itself (even though that setting was turned to off), so that may be where the versions got out of sync. I’ll try to contact the package maintainer to see if they can publish an update.

Oh and manual importing works anyway, I’ve been using that as a workaround

The only way that would happen is if the update was installed manually, the setting is definitely respected.

The package maintainer is going to update the package, I’ll post back when that is available.

As for the update, I may have been mistaken. I’ll try to repro it some other time. Until then, forget I said anything

hi, just messaging to say i have the same problem with asustor and the latest version of sonarr (it used to work a few weeks ago, then one day it didn’t.), I’ve emailed the package maintainer as well and linked him to this thread.

For completeness, here is the issue I opened on the package GitHub: https://github.com/mafredri/sonarr-apkg/issues/1

The package has been updated, and everything is working normally again.
