Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5228 Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):5.14.0.177 OS: UnRaid Debug logs: Description of issue:
I keep my show episodes in two locations to separate what I’m currently watching from older season
current/show1
/show2
/show3
archived/show1
/show2
/show3
I’d like to use Sonarr to check my shows for completeness (perhaps after a hdd crash). Is there any why I can get Sonarr to look in both locations for a show?
I know I could move all of my archived shows to my “current” location and run the check and then move them back but that’s a lot of work.
Thanks in advance.
No, Sonarr will only look in a single location for a show, drive pooling or some sort of merging of folders (outside of Sonarr) is the only way to have Sonarr see it all.
EDIT…
Dammit… After typing all the below I just noticed you are using Unraid so you may as well ignore my post.
I will leave it here though in case it ever helps anyone else.
You do have options though. I do something similar.
In my case when a show hits final quality (Remux in my case) I store those files on archive drives. Those drives are all defragmented and stay that way. All ongoing shows and shows that haven’t yet been released on Bluray sit on random drives.
Directory Junctions are your solution. Personally I find http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html to be the best solution. It also offers sym and hardlinks but directory junctions are more versatile and are even resilient to an OS reinstall.
It allows me to make junctions from my Remuxes on one drive back to the main ongoing shows drive.
They’re also fully readable to Sonarr & Plex etc…
Advantages.
They don’t care about physical hard drives. You can link from one physical drive to another.
Resillient to OS reinstall.
They can be set at many levels. You can create a junction for a single season, for a full show or even for a full drive (pre-planning is required for the latter).
Pictures explain it better.
So in this screenshot as an example the first image shows Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 & 2 which are both at Remux quality and sit solely on my defragged Archive drive. (drive M:/)
The second image shows season 3 at lesser quality still sat on my “sonar incoming” drive. With junction points for the first two seasons. (drive E:/)
Plex, Sonarr and everything else happily sees the content as all being on drive E:/
The only interaction I ever need to make is it Season 3 ever hits Remux quality, I would MOVE not copy season 3 to the Archive drive and then create a junction back to the E:/ drive.
That’s probably as extreme a usage case as there is and I don’t know your exact usage case, so for you it may be even easier.
I do use Stablebit Drivepool. However I have multiple pools in my 120TB system. It isn’t however needed at all to use directory junctions.
Feel free to hit me up if you decide to take a look but aren’t sure how to proceed. But its extremely easy and all done simply by the “right click” context menu. There is no stupidly difficult UI at all.
