Show true air date instead of Last Tuesday?

Maybe I’m missing a setting or something, but is there a way to show the true air date of episodes? Right now under the Wanted section or on a show’s page, the air date column shows things like “Yesterday” or “Last Month” - why not just show the actual air date?

What’s frustrating to me is that if Drone can’t find an episode for me, specifically a daily show that goes by air date instead of episode number, and I have to go find a torrent of it manually, then I have to go to the calendar to try to figure out what date “Last Tuesday” was. It really doesn’t make any sense to me why anyone would want to hide the air date of a show.

you can always hover over the “Yesterday” text and it shows you the actual date. no need to go to calendar. to me a relative date is much more meaning full. I rather see Yesterday vs, May 16th 2014.

Ah, see, I never noticed you could see the date by hovering over it, as obvious as it should have been. So thanks for that. And I do see your point about yesterday, cause obviously it’s easy to know that yesterday was 5/16. But what if it’s Last Monday? I don’t know about you, but I don’t automatically know what date last Monday was without checking. So, I still think there should be an option you can change for it to be shown either way, because the relative date is completely useless and a hinderance, in my opinion.

You can also see the air date by clicking on the episode title on the missing page. Using the air date in drone is also wrong for anyone outside of North America because its shown as your local time.

Making the relative dates optional is possible, but then everyone will have their own idea of what they want to be shown as relative and what not to be, because on or off is too restrictive.

We have no plans to change this at this time.

You say everyone has their own idea of what is relative, yet that’s the only option.

This relative stuff is frustrating. To me, if today is Wednesday, then two days ago is Monday and five days from now is next Monday. But NZB Drone says two days ago is last Monday and five days from now is Monday. And don’t get me started on what I consider “today” to be when it’s five minutes after midnight lol

Or let’s say I want to rewatch last year’s Christmas episode of a show. I can’t just glance at which episode was roughly around December 25th. I have to deal with 7 months ago, 7 months ago, 6 months ago, 6 months ago, etc.

At least a true date is consistent and should have absolutely nothing to do with whether you are in North America or not. The air date of a show is relative to the place it originally aired in. I think we all understand that.

Considering there’s several inches of blank space on either side of a 1920 x 1080 screen, a relative column and true date column could probably peacefully coexist.

Regardless of the available space, 2 columns for the same thing would look awful, we’re never going to do that, but someone certainly could via a browser extension.

I’ve been given dates in general some consideration, including choosing the format used (month-day-year or day-month-year, etc) and its something we want to do, but haven’t determined exactly how we’re going to do it. No ETA on when it will be done, but it is on our radar.

I would love to see a real date instead of a relative date too. Seeing “last tuesday”, does not help me recognise the right episodes also.

If it would be too much to make it completely customisable, then I would rather see no relative dates at all.

that is already possible at least in develop. it is in settins > UI
