Series Lock for Completed Series

At one time I remember a setting that allowed us to keep Sonarr from touching a series if we set it but I don’t see it anymore. I am using the master build now so it may have been in develop.
I have gotten in the habit of removing the Series from Sonarr when I finish with it to ensure that it doesn’t overwrite or corrupt a completed series. I lost “Branded” that way. The reason I ask is I have to be careful I don’t search for a series I have already completed.

Thanks again for a wonderful way to keep my library working. Plex and Sonarr are like 2 gloves and they fit perfectly.

Like UnMonitor the whole series? Load up a series, then right click the Flag looking icon next to the Series name

Thanks, I knew you could monitor it and unmonitor it but I didn’t think it would completely pull all control from Sonarr.

Sometimes I monitor some Series for a while then switch to a few different ones. Using this method you can unmonitor each season also even down to the eps.

The idea for a Series Lock is more as not to just unmonitor it or monitor it but if it was left in the monitored state and you had a Series Lock on, Sonarr could tell you if it found something without making any changes and you could decide if you wanted to take that step.

I mean this. Normally a DVD rip is fine for older series and sometimes you can be happy with that but every now and then you want Sonarr to turn monitor on to see if you can safely upgrade a season. With so much happening, updates, Changes to Usenet, Torrents get scarce and watched like a hawk, I was used to having a setting that would lock the series and it would show LOCKED. Like I said it had been awhile but I always thought the Feature would be great to see and would be shown. The Blue color is for the continuing series and Green is for the ended, I was thinking about Series Lock that would be Yellow indicator to show that everything have been done. Any file renaming, verification, and all.

Another thing that happens and I don’t know how to ask. I will give an example…

Veep A stupid show but one that is asked by my family and friends to get. I would like a way to tell Sonarr to only use USENET and not Torrents. I have done the VPN game and have lost more time doing that than anything. I turn off Torrent Indexing when I can’t watch it because it will always default to Torrents. I then get a call that I have a C&D email… Veep is too stupid to get my internet cut off because I use torrents. I can watch the show on Cox contour but enough complaining.

Thanks for the answer

I personally don’t like your locked idea, but its not me you have to sell the idea too

I do know with torrents and usenet both setup, and its on ‘prefer usenet’, it will still use torrents over usenet if it find a better quality match to what’s in your profile, because of this i just disable torrent indexers 99.9% of the time and enable then if i need to find something thats not on usenet (which is hardly ever)

A lock for the series is not something we’re going to consider, it would just add confusion for most users and I don’t see it being used often (I can only imagine how many times we’d have to explain the difference between the unmonitoring and locking).

You can disable torrents at a series level or globally and optionally enable it per series or globally, look at delay profiles for this.

Thanks Markus

I looked again and found your Protocol Delay. Allows a quick turn on and off of Usenet and Torrents. Thanks again.

For anyone reading this…

The Answer to the question is already in Sonarr… I couldn’t see it and missed what I was being told.

At the Series Level - A flag is in front of all the seasons. Flipping that will turn OFF the series from Sonarr.
At the Show Level - A flag is in the front of each episode. Flipping that will turn Off the show from Sonarr.

Protocol Delays - The simple solution is - Sonarr checks both Usenet and Torrents by default.

Create a Protocol for for Usenet ONLY and one for Torrent ONLY if you want to restrict Sonarr from checking both.
