Season monitored status

Why does Sonarr leave the season monitored status turned on for old seasons even though no episodes are monitored in that season. I would think once the last episode in that season is no longer monitored then the entire season monitored status should clear as well. The only exception to this is when it’s the latest season and you don’t know yet if the season will continue or a new season will be released.

Not sure if that makes sense? Let me know if it doesn’t.

If you use season pass (or the similar option when adding a series) then it will unmonitor the season if all episodes are unmonitored.

Finally got around to trying out the season pass view which does the job. I guess the bigger question here is whether that adds any additional overhead having the season monitored status still on but no episodes in the season monitored? If there’s no overhead there then I won’t bother cleaning up the season monitored status.

My NAS is an old 2011 Synology and majorly under powered. Sonarr runs like a dog most of time and times out often just navigating the screens so anything I can do to cut out unnecessary processing is a big win.

Season monitored is mostly just a helper in the UI, the only backend change it makes is whether new episodes in the season are monitored automatically.
