Scheduled Missing Search?

Pretty simple suggestion here:

Would love to see an option/toggle to add ‘Search All Missing’ as a scheduled task (along the other tasks in the setting panel). Naturally would be nice to set the frequency, but even if it’s just hardcoded as a daily event it would be a nice switch to have.

Sonarr is pretty good at catching failed pulls and reattempting 95% of the time, but some combination of failed indexer responses or random downtime seem to leave orphaned episodes, especially when I’m adding a lot of data at once, and having a routine check for anything it missed would be great. As an example, out of the list of nine missing episodes I had just now, seven of which had multiple valid entries when I opened their manual search. A scheduled task would’ve caught these without my input, and seeing as it’s already based in a button, triggering it through a task shouldn’t be difficult.

Cheers!

We have no plans to add a task to trigger search all missing. In most cases it’s not necessary and borders on insanity (doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results) because unless indexers are doing consistently or you’re adding new indexers that have different content it won’t find anything new and can be abusive to indexers.

If indexers started getting hammered by Sonarr doing missing episode searches periodically Sonarr would get banned and everyone would be out of luck.

You can use the API with a script to schedule something if you really want, but you’re probably better off doing it when you make changes to your setup to avoid hammering indexers.
