I’ve been using nzbdrone for about a month now and I wanted to have my files renamed to the stile nzbdrone uses (used to be SickBeard style).
Now I’ve noticed that when I click “rename episode files” on a serie it will only rename the files known to nzbdrone, so it won’t include the srt files.
Is it possible to include these in the renaming proces?

NzbDrone currently doesn’t manage anything other than some XBMC metadata files and media files, while its certainly possible to do so, its not something thats high on our todo list. This issue on YouTrack is one that would likely deal with it, please cast your vote: http://track.nzbdrone.com/youtrack/issue/ND-20
Thanks, I’ve had a look there. I have the feeling you’re underestimating the use of subtitle files with your users (just my oppinion)
Apologies, as I linked the wrong issue (because I misread the topic), but regardless, we’ve had issues to add support for subtitles for a long time (http://track.nzbdrone.com/youtrack/search/NzbDrone%20Backlog-6?q=subtitles), but only one vote on the two items. Unless users make us aware that they are in fact wanted (on YouTrack), we don’t know how popular it would be. Generally we try to implement features that lots of users want or would want, of course thats not always the case, because some small features jump the list.
Please cast your vote(s) on YouTrack for features you want to see, the forums are great to discuss features and to steer the implementation, but they fall short when there are hundreds of topics with thousands of posts across them and we want to know how many people want feature X vs feature Y.
I originally made the subtitle request :-). Maybe this could be revisited now?
Moving additional files is something we want to tackle, as seen here: https://trello.com/c/IzNiSitU/230-move-additional-files
There are other options for subtitles and we haven’t made adding them to drone a priority yet, though it is pretty popular: https://trello.com/c/Yh8EmFyG/180-subtitle-downloading
What is the status on removing and renaming additional downloaded subtitle?
Long time SickBeard user but using NZBDrone now for a few weeks. So far I find it very pleasant to use but I have a major issue with it.
I use AutoSub Bootstrapbill for subtitles. If AS finds a subtitle, it moves the subtitle and corresponding serie file to another directory. There, NZBDrone should pick up both files, rename them both and move both files to my serie-dir.
In combination with SickBeard this was configurable and worked perfectly
NZBDrone lacks this feature and only moves the serie-file and leaving subtitle untouched. So I have to do renaming and moving manually.
This is a major drawback for me and want me to go back to SB.
Are there plans to build this feature in NZBDrone in the near future?
We’ve had a few people express interest in implementing it, but so far no one has come through. Its not something I’m currently looking a, so I’d say, near future its not going to be added.
Ok, thanks for the quick reply.
As I said before my actual setup (in combination with SB and AS), which I use for quite a long time now, is fully automated. SB sends a TV show file to SABnzbd, gets downloaded in a directory which is watched by AS. When a subtitle is found, AS downloads it and moves both files (TV show and subtitle file) to another directory which is watched by SB. SB moves and renames both files to its destination directory. I get a message from Pushover that the TV show is ready to watch and enjoy.
It is a pity that this option is not available in NZBdrone. I like the program but I prefer the automation of my current setup even more. So I’ll go back to SB. Perhaps in the future when NZBdrone has this option, you’ll see me back.
Thanks again.
Deal breaker for me also I am afraid. Got tired of Sickbeard lately. No failed NZB handling and little updates but its simplicity and its ability to rename .srr/.srt files is a must!
Just booted up Sonarr and was liking a lot of what I saw until I renamed 1 season directory to notice all my .srr files stayed put making the whole directory look messed up.
Please add this feature, will come back sometime to see if it has been
Thanks
No plans to implement this then?
Its on GitHub, we plan to implement it.
Still no movement on this feature, disappointing
Great way of saying do it yourself there markus101 and if I could I would love to help out and implement this feature, unfortunately I dont have the skills to do so.
Over 2 years since this thread was started coming back to it time and time again, I thought I might give it a bump
Edit: Seeing as this thread has been locked, here is the link to continue discussion on GitHub:
