Ready to start new installation

I have now removed my old Sonarr - completely. I am ready to start. I went to Sonarr Dive In and read their stuff on installation. One of the things was that I should get 4 and not three. I then went to download and noted that the download was for a 2024 version of sonarr. I suspect that is not 4. That being the case I am now here asking what should I do?

Thank you…

Want to post what OS you’re running cause it does make a difference.

Sorry, running with ubuntu 24.04.3 (wish there was a way to do this automatically)

OMGawd you may end up using Docker even though I don’t recommend containers unless there is no other way. Search how to install Sonarr 4 with Docker. If interested there is the below.

I have tried to not use docker. Think I will keep hoping there is another way. Not against it just lazy I guess.

Thank you for the reply!

I assume what you are referring to is the script date that appears when you run the command. That has nothing to do with the Sonarr version being installed.

I don’t think you’re lazy just no legitimate reason to use a container for any app if you don’t have to. Then there is the matter of setting everything up for Docker, no thanks in my book.

Ah, so I just follow the instructions and then I either have a choice or I am automatically gifted with latest and greatest? (hopefully) I just wanted to make sure before I started. I will proceed!

Good enough - thank you!!

Per the script - latest version

I have a kindofa new plan. I am going to create a new Startup Disk Creator. Download ubuntu 25.04, etc. Once I get the bootable disc, created, move the iso to it, etc. and its ready to go I will then create some new itb ssds that will be using ubuntu 25.04 and then I can use those to run my machine(s) and then all i have to do is to install, install, install. Since I have been doing that right now it won’t be all that bat (just finished with sabnzbd and sonarr, for instance. I am, hopefully getting close to that one.

Thoughts?
