Question about upgrading mono on ubuntu server

When I apt-get update/upgrade on ubuntu server 14.04, it’s starting to give me a list of 181 packages that are being “kept back” starting with “mono” or “libmono.” In the System > Status page on Sonarr, it says my Mono version is 3.10.0. It’s unclear to me what version it’s trying to install.

I know I can install those updates via dist-upgrade. The question is: do I? I’m not familiar with mono enough to know how version sensitive it is and what versions Sonarr will run on. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Running Sonarr 2.0.0.3732.

mono 3.10 is good (our recommended minimum), 4.2.1 is the latest version though.

So doing a dist-upgrade is ok then. Anyone know how to check what version apt-get is trying to get you to upgrade to?
