Problems with Windows 10

I’m having an issue with Sonarr since installing Windows 10.

I’ve been using Sonarr with Sabnzbd, Plex and a QNAP NAS for some time with no problems.

Since installing Windows 10 I’ve had issues and whilst I’m fairly sure they’re not caused by Sonarr I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas on a resolution.

Since updating Sonarr is generally unable to see the NAS both under a drive name or \server. The same applies to Plex. I can navigate to the drive in File Explorer without any issues. I say generally because it does intermittently show up but then disappears again for no apparent reason. While Sonarr will still pass downloads to Sabnzbd they will appear in the folder \server\tv instead of \server\tv\show. Sonarr will then not see the download as it can’t scan the NAS for updates.

My drivers are up to date as is the QNAP firmware.

I’m using an Admin account and have created permissions for the NAS in Credential Manager.

I did ask Microsoft who say it’s down to my pc manufacturer (it’s a self build) or my ethernet driver which I doubt as I would have thought I’d have lots of issues. I checked and I have the latest driver.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Update. Tried importing a cd into itunes and it was imported straight to my Music folder on the NAS so doesn’t seem to effect everything.

Cheers

Have you looked at: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/FAQ#why-cant-sonarr-see-my-files-on-a-remote-server ?

Windows 10 now blocks guest access to shares by default, so try changing the user the NzbDrone service logs in as.

Just had the same problem myself. It appears to be a problem with the service and windows 10.

Here is the workaround (that worked for me).
Reinstall, but UNCHECK “Install As Service”

That is all.

You can also change the user the service runs as so its able to access the credential store.

Thanks, Jakesparrow and markus101 for your suggestions.

I’ll try reinstalling initially but could you perhaps talk me through the how to change the user the service runs under?

I’m thinking of doing a fresh install or Windows 10 as there are other issues.

Thanks

Take a look at the FAQ article I linked, it has a link to the steps right from Microsoft.

Thanks very much for your help. I decided to to a fresh install of Windows 10 so installed as per Jakesparrow instructions and it’s working fine now.

Thanks again.
