Description of issue:

So, i have sonarr and sabnzbd both conigured. Most of the time, things work without a hitch. However, I have run into some occasional problems that i think are with sonarr but i may be wrong about that. Anyway - i have Sonarr configured to rename and organize files downloaded by SABnzbd and move them to my media directory. However, it seems like a handful of things downloaded don’t get processed properly. Any idea what the problem is / where i need to go to fix it?

I’ve included a few screen shots that show a recent episode of Rick & morty showing up as still downloading in sonarr, as completed in sabnzbd and then a shot of my directory where you can see all these programs that have downloaded but not been organized (including some with the mysterious unpack prefix)

Go to Activity: Queue in Sonarr and hover over the icon on the left, what does it say?

“b17ce2f6a47a42f1894a662f42c41427.mkv
Has the same filesize as existing file” so i’m guessing it’s not going to overwrite what’s already there … thanks for the tip! That said - why did it download them in the first place and do I just need to manually delete the files? and what about the ones that are in directories that have unpacked amended on the front? they don’t appear in my history

Could have been grabbed because it was imported without the correct quality and Sonarr grabbed it thinking it was an upgrade, just a guess, could be something else. It needs to be manually removed as a safety net so it doesn’t download, reject, delete, rinse and repeat.

Sonarr won’t process those folders because they are still unpacking (and if they aren’t they should have been renamed).

I’m having a same/similar issue. This started a few months ago; I had never seen it in the years I’ve been using usenet.

Basically a download will complete in SABnzbd but the filename is a random length string of random characters. There is also always a txt file in the folder with the mkv. It’s also just random characters, both the name and contents. sonarr gets stuck at “File does not match quality of the grabbed release” which makes sense considering there’s no relevant filename to parse for quality. I would estimate that this is happening with 50% of my downloads.

I talked to Safihre from SABnzbd and he said to come ask you guys. Please let me know if there’s any other information I can provide.

Sonarr will also use the folder name to detect the wuwlity, which should be the same as the nzb name unless you’re doing some post processing or sorting in SAB (in which case you shouldn’t so Sonarr can use the folder name as well).

Sounds like you got a obsfuscated release, I get them sometimes and sonar doesn’t like playing with them and will not move the file after sab downloads it, basically they are files which are sort of encoded/messed with so dmca can’t track them to the uploaded, I just ignore them, or add it to the ignore file name folder, can’t remember where it was though
