Prevent Sonarr from creating series folder?

Sonarr version (3.0.1.449):
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS: MacOS Mojave 10.14.4
Debug logs:
Description of issue:

Is there a way to prevent Sonarr from creating series folders? I just want each episode of my shows to appear in my download folder in their own folder.
If that is not possible, I have another question: Is there a way to make Sonarr create a subfolder for each episode inside the series folder?

The reason is I want Plex to be able to download subtitles automatically for each episode I download but with Sonarr’s series folders that doesn’t work.

Thanks!

  1. It’s not possible, and Plex recommends series folders
  2. You can enter a folder in the episode format using a slash in the standard episode format, something like {Series Title} S{season:00}E{episode:00} {Quality Full}-{Release Group}/{Series Title} S{season:00}E{episode:00} {Quality Full}-{Release Group} which would create a folder and a filename with the exact same name.

something weird in your setup then. how are you having plex download the subtitles? i get subtitles for every episode with sonarr’s folder structure.

I set up the plex subtitle finder exactly like plex recommends and it worked fine before sonarr… did you do it another way to make it work with sonarr?

Could you send me a link to where Plex recommended how you set it up? I have never seen plex state that you needed a folder for each episode.

That’s not how plex works:

https://support.plex.tv/articles/200220687-naming-series-season-based-tv-shows/

Which is why I asked him for the article where he got the information. I think he is remembering the movie instructions, but I wanted to know where he got the information first so I knew what track to go down.

All I did as follow this, I think: https://www.howtogeek.com/284125/how-to-automatically-download-subtitles-with-plex-media-server/ or https://support.plex.tv/articles/200471133-adding-local-subtitles-to-your-media/

I did it for both movies and tv shows and I haven’t had any problems UNTIL I started using Sonarr a week ago. Until then it found all subtitles for all my shows without a hitch… I just assumed it had something to do with folder structure but I might have been wrong then? I’m not sure why it doesn’t work anymore. =/

I think you missed the part in the Plex link:

The “Season XX” shows one folder per season in their documentation. If you set it up like that, it will work.

I use subzero , so my setup is different, but…without concrete examples, logs, pictures of all of your settings, there isn’t much we can do other than tell you to go back through and make sure you have all of your settings and connections set properly.
