Post Process on one drive, move only .mkv/.mp4 to other drive

I was wondering if its possible to setup Sonarr to extract, rename, delete excess files all on the same drive as the Sonarr downloads are, THEN Sonarr moves the file to the final resting place on the other drive.

Currently, Sonarr downloads the file, extracts it to the same drive, moves all the files over to the new hard drive, then deletes and renames.

Reason: I’m trying to setup permissions on my media drives so nothing can be deleted and with the current way Sonarr operates, it wouldn’t allow Sonarr to delete excess files/folders.

Sonarr doesn’t extract, that’s up to your download client.

I’m not sure I follow what the issue is, Sonarr doesn’t copy extraneous files/folders to the sorted folder, it only moves the video file (and in the future extra files you tell it to).

Markus, thanks for the response. Sorry about the confusion.

I use Sonarr + NZBGet. I am not sure about exact differentiation between what Sonarr does with downloaded files and what NZBget does. However, what I’d like the end result to be remains the same.

So to that end, which application would be best suited to handle this? Does Sonarr do anything with the episode once its snatched or is it all up to NZBget?

It sends it to nzbget, nzbget downloads it and extracts it, from there Sonarr moves it to the series folder (and renames it in the process).

I since Soanrr would only be deleting to upgrade quality (either a different quality or a proper) there should be nothing deleted in most cases. The only thing would be to make sure nzbget isn’t putting things on the media drive (sorted and unsorted files should be kept separate regardless).

Thanks Markus. Is there anyway for Sonarr to rename and dete any eronneous files in the NZBget download folder, and then move only the episode. In my sorted tv show folder, I routinely have left over folders and files that should have been deleted.

This is what I’m referring to: http://imgur.com/fGusrHR and http://imgur.com/hG0xRrq as an example. It moved the mkv file but left others. If Sonarr would leave those files back in the NZBget completed folder, they’d be easier to manage and delete, and would make it so I can accomplish my goals.

Sonarr doesn’t move those, sounds like you have NZBGet putting completed files (unsorted) along side sorted files. If they never get there to begin with then nothing needs to get deleted.

Sonarr does attempt to delete folders after importing the files and either it’s failing and being logged or Windows is telling Sonarr it deleted it, but it really didn’t (which happens a lot more than I’d expect it to).
