Possible to monitor series on a QNAP NAS?

I was wondering if it would be possible to have Sonaar able to add / monitor TV Series located on a QNAP NAS rather than a local hard drive… When adding or importing a TV Series on disk, the only options are locally connected hard drives on the computer that Sonaar is running on. All of my TV Series are located on a QNAP NAS and therefore are connected via a network connection. I have tried manually inputting the mapped network location, but Sonaar shows it as “Path does not exist”. This would allow me to monitor the multitudes of TV Series on my NAS, rather than having duplicate copies on my computer’s hard drive…

It is possible, if you’re on Windows read the ((FAQ)) (there is one explicitly for this case) otherwise we’ll need the following information:

Sonarr version (exact version):
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS:
((Debug logs)):
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here)
Description of issue:

I’ve tried what you suggested, but when I try to add the UNC Path, I get the following error:
"Folder is not writable by user Robin"
I have added NzbDrone.exe to the startup folder, gave it administrative rights, even added
the user “Robin” to my NAS… I have tried to change the Sonaar service as another user
as detailed in: “How to change a service’s user account” instructions, still no luck…
I always get the same “Folder is not writable by user Robin” error.

Sonaar version is: 2.0.0.4408
Operating system is: Windows 8.1 Pro

As for sending you the log via your above instructions, I have no idea how to do that…
Sorry for being a newbie at this…

Robin is the user you’re logged into the computer as, not necessarily the user you’re connecting to the share on you NAS as, that will depend on how you setup the share and how those permissions work on the NAS.

Are you able to create folders on the NAS in Windows Explorer? (At the root of the share you’re trying to use for Sonarr).

Did you read the linked wiki page? You can either access them from the file system or in the Sonarr UI.

Depending on which QNAP NAS you have, there are packages for Deluge/SABnzbd/Sonarr which you can run on your NAS directly which would eliminate the problem of Networked connections.
