Possible to manually override TheTVDB season folders naming convention?

Sonarr version (exact version): Version 2.0.0.4753
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): Mono Version 5.0.1.1
OS: Debian Jessie

Description of issue:

Sonarr matches a new television series to TheTVDB.com that has an incorrect or “bad” naming format for Seasons folder numbering and causes subsequent episodes to be named incorrectly, therefor the episodes are not detected in Plex. Plex won’t see the episodes because they do not follow the correct naming convention. In this example I will be use the series “MythBusters” as a working example but any series named this way would duplicate the issue. TheTVDB link: https://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=73388

The series MythBusters uses Season folders by date. (i’ve submitted a request to their support forums to correct this) but the series is locked on their end and can’t be changed by non-admins.

If you add the series Mythbusters from the Series > Add Series feature in Sonarr, the directory structure for the seasons folders are created as Season 2003, Season 2004, Season 2005, etc instead of Season 1, Season 2, Season 3. If you have Sonarr handling your Episode naming all downloaded Mythbusters episodes will be re-named from “Series Title (2010) - S01E01 - Episode Title” to “Series Title (2010) - S2003E0S - Episode Title” which is not an accepted format of episode numbering for Plex. It appears as if the re-name feature uses the Season folder name as the source for naming all files themselves.

Is there a manual way to trick Sonarr into using Season folder names like “Season 1, Season 2, etc” instead of enforcing the incompatible names from TheTVDB?

Sonarr will only follow TheTVDB season numbers, Plex should have no problem with that, though it may depend on the metadata agent you’re using.

Thank you for the information! That sorts this all.
