Has anyone else had issues with this? The newish Plex Home Theater client (PHT) won’t receive notifications from NzbDrone. I tried plexclient with port 3005 which errors. I can set up as an XBMC with port 3005 and the test notification is successful both on NzbDrone side and I see the notifications but after I save none of my PHT client see any notifications after that. Anyone have any ideas? I don’t see anything obvious in the logs.
Are you using a XBMC or Plex Client notifications You should be using Plex Client, but you mention XBMC, so I’m not sure.
Try using Plex Client (if you’re not already), if you are already we’ll have to dig in further.
I tried using PlexClient and I get “[testplexclient] failed”.
If I set it up as XBMC it will test successful and I will see the test messages on my Plex Home Theater client but any subsequent messages will never show up. I’m using Plex Home Theater 1.0.13.222-ff029016
SickBeard has a similar issue http://sickbeard.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7621. Looks like the notification method may have changed with Plex Home Theater vs the old Plex Client.

Since XBMC notifications work (when testing at least), you will need to ensure On Download and GUI Notifications (scroll the modal) are both enabled. On Download tells drone that you want it to run when its imported and GUI Notification tells drone what to do (because XBMC can also do library updates), both have to be enabled for the notification to get sent.
That got it working for XBMC. I didn’t realize there were more model buttons. Didn’t notice the scrollbar. So that resolved my issue even though I’m using XBMC instead of plexclient. Thank you
Would be great to create another “Plex Home Theater” connect option very similar to XBMC just without the user name and password fields since by default there’s no way to configure this on the plex side and the defaults are blank.

Any more movement on this? I’m on the develop branch and things are still the same. Plex users still need to be using XBMC section using port 3005.
We’ll update Trello when we make decide what to do, it does work so its not high on our priorities.
