I posted this as a reply to another thread, but it might be more appropriate as a new thread:
I just confirmed by doing a manual import that sonarr does not recognize series with periods between words. At least not in some cases. I tried doing a manual import on a complete series as it was originally downloaded (and not automatically imported). Every episode was marked as rejected, unknown series. I removed the periods from one file name and it worked. Note that the files were not downloaded through sonarr. I’m not sure if sonarr would even have been able to find them through the indexer due to the periods. Is there a way to ignore the periods when searching or importing. I would hate to have to rename each file manually. Thanks!
I’m not sure what to look for. When I do a manual import on those files with the periods they will not import. They are a couple directories deep: complete series/series/episodes. In order for them to be imported I have to remove the periods and take outside of the folder structure. The folder names also have periods. When I run through this entire process, no new entries are created in the log.
OK, it turns out, if I take them out of the nested directories, or do a manual import from the specific folder in which the files reside it works. So I guess Sonarr won’t import files that are nested? I thought it has in the past.
Normally they’d be in a folder named after the release, is there a reason why they are nested?
Currently not for manual import, I believe that was intentional to avoid trying to process every file in every subfolder if sorted and unsorted files are mixed and the root folder was selected.
