hey guys just trying to get some feedback on how many are running into issues with passworded episodes lately it seems like 1 out of 5 is a passworded download
checking the history these seem mostly from nzbx.co and nzbclub i have currently turned these off to see how it goes without them
I got a batch of from one series last week that were passworded fakes, otherwise I haven’t seen any, but I have NzbClub off and just nzbx.co and my newznab sites running.
it gets a little annoying when it keeps picking the same indexers everytime when you are trying to download a show you hit retry in history and it grabs the same one again
that is why i am hoping you guys add either a feature to the new nzbdrone to prioritize indexers or have a feature where if a nzb fails to complete on the second attempt it skips the indexer it grabbed the nzb from the first time and checks the others on the list and also perhaps a auto-retry check and downlaod for incomplete downloads when it does the regular check for new episodes
just some features i am hoping for in the bag of goodies you guys are making with the new version which from what i’ve seen (from the screenshots) and heard it is gonna be sweeeeetttt
Yeah, I agree the current system is not ideal, we have big plans to fix that, but thats not going to ship with the next version.
My stats (from /system/stats):
Number of Series: 146
Number of Series Countinuing: 93
Number of Series Ended: 52
Number of Episodes: 13397
Number of Episodes On Disk: 9926
Number of Episodes Missing: 729
Downloaded in the Last Week: 104
Downloaded in the Last 30 days: 319
just looked at my sab queue and this is what i got overnight
it appears some smart-ass’s are posting fake files for upcoming episodes that have not aired yet nzbdrone has detected them not realizing that today is not the day they are supposed to be due out and grabbed them as normal
at first i thought it was mostly public indexers like nzbclub or nzbx.co or nzbindex that were having these but checking the history page these are coming from private indexers that i have accounts with so these sites are obviously not having a file integrity check on them
it is getting ridiculous it is chewing through data like crazy now i have the password detection feature on in sabnzbd but how it works is it cannot check for passworded files unto rar’s are present which makes it essentially useless as the episodes are downloaded before the check even occurs
I hate to say it but it is getting to a point at this rate that i might at least partially go back to using torrents and tv trackers like eztv.it luckily i have a VPN Account to cover my tracks
i still will keep nzbdrone running to grab the majority of shows and also use it to sort and rename new episodes (even ones from torrents)
i am running the latest version 0.7.11 i did re-install it completely and re-configure from scratch in case i had some setting i did not realise and it started working it stop a couple of nzb’s after about 67mb
so it is working after that still not 100% though as it let one episode through still it is better than it was were it wasn’t letting anything through
I have decided for this week I am gonna go Torrents Only it has been a couple years since i have used torrents full time but with the recent amount of issues i am having on usenet i am gonna test it out for a week using a mixture of Public Trackers and Private Trackers (i am still a member of a couple great ones but mostly used since switching to usenet as latest release information sites and for P2P non scene releases
I will still be using NZBDrone as my opinion of it’s greatness has not changed just because of Usenet Current Issues
i have simply disabled all indexers and just going to use it as a sorter and renamer and show collection manager for my downloaded torrent episodes my usenet accounts are blocks so they don’t expire so they can just sit there for a couple of days
I have a VPN account with PrivateInternetAccess so my ip will be encrypted for torrenting on Public Trackers
