OSX install over older windows + mono install

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5163
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):5.10.1
OS: osx
Debug logs:
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here. Post in .txt not .doc, .rtf or some other formatted document)
Description of issue:
I have sonarr running using the linux install method on my mac osx for a few years now (Nzbdrone folder + exe in program folder).
However I noticed that there is now an .app install, which would remove the need to use things like automator to start sonarr.
I was wondering if there is an easy way to switch over to this version while keeping my current database/settings

I guess the path(s) to where your series are etc will not change, so I think you can just take the latest backup from your current installation and use that to port over your settings / series info to the new install?
You basically have to pretend your sonarr died and you install it again and restore from backup.

I started typing the steps, but there is a full guide here: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Backup-and-Restore

After you take the backup from your old install, stop that sonarr instance. Otherwise you’ll run into port conflicts when you start the new .app installation (and maybe you’re not 100% sure if you’re looking at the new or still the old installation when you open the web interface…).

Thanks for the help. It appears to have just re-used the existing appData without overwriting it.

  • Backed up sonarr
  • Deleted nzbDrone folder from program’s
  • Installed mac os version using the guide on sonarr.tv
