Only use Torrent providers on Manual Search

CouchPotato has an option where for automated searches it won’t use the torrent provider to send releases automatically and will instead use Usenet.

Can Sonarr implement that? I don’t want to search torrents unless I do a manual search as I’d prefer to source everything through usenet.

Amazing update recently btw, was reading the change log! A lot done.

I suspect this will be a common use-case and its already on Trello: https://trello.com/c/NnLSWfKk/847-option-to-disable-automatic-searches-for-indexers

Thanks for the support!

Torrents are a good option when for some odd reason something isn’t posted on usenet - so it will be a common scenario.

Does disasbling RSS sync prevent the automated searches happening with the provider? If I then can go into the show and do an auto/manual search and it flags the torrent that’ll work for me. I just don’t want drone sending loads of torrents to uTorrent when it has usenet.

Sonarr doesn’t search automatically on its own, unless its missed an RSS sync for more than 3 hours.

You could set your torrent delay to something abnormally long. That way if it finds it on usenet it will delete it. Currently I have mine set to 24 hours for the couple of shows that don’t show up on usenets and only show up on torrents.

When you do a manual search for a show it will still show up in your search lists and also still pull from shows on your RSS but just sit there until you manually download it or a usenet version of that show gets posted.

How do you set the delay? Can’t see it in the options - sounds like a good idea. Thanks

On the Profile settings page, its an advanced setting, so they will need to be shown.

Thanks Markus!
