Only downloading the latest episode

I wasn’t sure how to search for this. Is there a way to only download the latest episode for some series? Some of the shows that I watch I want to watch once and delete. Others I archive the full seasons.

I noticed that even if the Season Pass if I only choose current season, under the “wanted” list, for shows that I do not archive, all of the episodes of the current season are marked as wanted. Is there a way to avoid this?

Not at the moment, but that will be changing in an upcoming release.

Make sure you enable the “Ignore deleted files” option.

Ok great, thank you for the response. So just to clarify, if Sonarr downloads something, I watch it, and then delete it from my HD, Sonarr will not attempt to download it again, correct?

That depends on two things:

  1. Ignore Deleted Episodes is enabled
  2. Sonarr sorted the file OR saw the file in the series folder during its refresh every 12 hours (Sonarr need to see the file was successfully download/on disk before it can ignore it when it detects its deleted.

Also make sure the cutoff is at the lowest wanted quality, otherwise as an example, if the file is seen on disk as HDTV 720p and the cutoff is higher than that and Sonarr sees a WEBDL 720p it will download it if it didn’t detect the existing file as deleted (deleted right from the disk in Windows Explorer).

You can force Sonarr to rescan one or all series via the UI if you want it to detect the deletion quickly (or delete from the Sonarr UI).
