First off, Sonarr is a great piece of software. Kudos.
Tonight the scene released Castle.2009.S07E13.720p.HDTV.X264-DIMENSION, and it was almost immediately blacklisted as it is the incorrect episode (its S07E03).
That said, I noticed that Sonarr does not have the ability to detect nuked episodes. Also, the way it is now, it won’t download the correct episode unless a proper or higher quality version is released. I would blacklist the release, but I would have to do that to all my indexers which would be a real pain. Lastly, I fear about backlog or as Sonarr calls it “Cutoff Unmet”, downloading nuked episodes as well as I would never know it - or find out months later as I’m watching old episodes.
Here is a previous discussion about the same issue back in October. Improvements to fix this were planned, but wondering if there has been any progress?
From Sonarr’s perspective this release was fine and is still even now showing on RSS feeds (even when attempting to filter out nuked items), nothing in the release name or a property of the RSS feed shows it as being nuked. Unless I’m missing something, I don’t see how Sonarr could have filtered this one out.
Only way you’re going to get a nuked episode (without explicitly searching) is if it pops up in RSS, which would have the exact same symptoms and Sonarr would have no way to see it, regardless if its a new episode or a re-upload of another one.
Those improvements had nothing to do with the episode being grabbed, but a better way to handle misnamed episodes (forcing import), which was just released.
