I’m new to Sonarr and as such I’m not sure if it’s something I’m doing or maybe I’m misunderstanding Sonarr’s capabilities, but I have set it up to watch a few different shows but anything that’s aired it doesn’t seem to download. I can search for it on the newsboards I follow and get results, but it doesn’t seem to get any. I would be highly appreciative if someone could help me out in figuring out what’s up.
Sonarr does not search and download automatically unless is told to do so by interaction with the user
It relies on RSS to do automatic downloading. Read here
Those screenshot you posted for that series, the episodes are probably no longer in the rss. So you can trigger auto search with the loupe to the right in the episode to use indexers with api to search for episodes, from the list you can select which one you want
Fair enough with the RSS feed, I overestimated that part, though I have hit the search button and the manual search though it returned nothing so I’m curious as to what it sends to the API in it’s search query that it doesn’t return the 3 top results from one of my indexers.
So after playing with it I’m either still missing something or doing something wrong. I’ve set up ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ to be downloaded every new episode, but I used the search to tell it to download all the missing ones in my library and it spun, said it had 388 hits, and then seemed to ignore all of them: 15-12-24 00:37:51.0|Info|Database|Vacuuming Log database 15-12-24 00:37:51.0|Info|Database|Log database compressed 15-12-24 00:37:52.5|Info|NzbSearchService|Searching 4 indexers for [The Late Show with Stephen Colbert : S01] 15-12-24 00:38:30.6|Info|DownloadDecisionMaker|Processing 388 releases 15-12-24 00:38:33.6|Info|SeasonSearchService|Season search completed. 0 reports downloaded.
Does that tell me something I’m missing because I’m seriously at a loss for what I may be doing wrong? I have yet to see if it grabs for new shows (nothing on my list has aired yet since I went and fixed up all my old library).
Seems as though I’ve now figured out my issue. I didn’t realize that using the search at the top for the season looked for pre-packed groups of episodes! To fill in I need to click through all the individual episodes, and for series where there is no complete collection I need to do the same. Kinda annoying, but I can see how that could be problematic in the code. Happy i finally had that realization .
For Daily series season search won’t work, but for Standard Sonarr should find them just fine, even individual episodes (doesn’t need to find season packs).
Hmmm, I’m not sure then. I was looking to complete a few series’ seasons but they it didn’t seem to look for individual episodes, just a large season collection. So I’m not sure.
Just the post i’ve have been looking for, for daaaaayyyysss.
Have been trying to get SAB + (Sickbeard/rage/gear, sonarr, anything) to work. Now it finally does.
I don’t know what is up with the Sickbeard forum but I couldn’t sign up for an account. From what I read it looks like things are not going so well in the Sickbeard family. So I came over to sonarr, and I’m glad i did. It was my first choice to begin with but I changed my mind at the last second. My mistake.
Anyway, thanks for the post and the reply, y’all made my day.
Now that I got the gosh darn thing initiate the download, hopefully all of the post-processing goes right. I might be back.
