Newest episode is found, but nothing is downloaded

Trying to understand what it is i am missing here. I added a show of which I already have a few seasons on disk. I understand that Sonar doesn’t have a backlog search, and if I f.ex. don’t have season 1 but have 2 and 3 etc, the older shows from 2014 won’t be downloaded automatically if they aren’t listed in the “rss 100”. Correct ?

But the real issue here is that the latest episode, broadcasted 2 days ago is not downloaded. The show has a “Filled” toggle mark. The last season as well, and all episodes of that season. Clicking on the manual search gives me a long list of available downloads on my indexer.

I know the search per episode is working because it is the only way that works for me to get the episodes from season 1. So that is under control. But why not the latest episode. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong ?

Edit: The picture by picture manual says something about having to click on the search glass. I assume this for doing a non-automated search? I assume that all I need to do is add a show and depending on my profile settings the available episodes will be snatched without intervention, right ?

Correct.

Is the series also monitored?
Did Sonarr see that release on the RSS feed previously? (((Debug logs)) will tell you this. It’s possible Sonarr tried all the applicable releases and they failed.

Are all the results rejected?

How Sonarr finds releases is covered in the ((FAQ)). As long as RSS is enabled on your indexers and there is a suitable release Sonarr sees there, it should pick it up, as long as it didn’t fail to download properly.

Is the series also monitored?

Yes

Did Sonarr see that release on the RSS feed previously?

Is this what you are looking for ? I don’t see any much other relevant information.

|RssSyncService|RSS Sync Completed. Reports found: 100, Reports grabbed: 0|18:10|
|DownloadDecisionMaker|Processing 100 releases|18:10|
|RssSyncService|Starting RSS Sync|18:10|

Are all the results rejected?

If you are asking in about the manual search? The HD is marked with “release rejected”. But SD is available (I have set SD as wanted quality).

When I look at the tasks, what is the task that does the entire download procedure, from checking the feed, getting the nzb, passing it on to the download client, rename and update the status? If I can do a forced run I know what to look for in the logs at that given time.

You need to enable ((debug logging)) and look at them to see if Sonarr saw the release you were expecting (after the fact).

There are multiple tasks. RSS Sync is the task that looks at the recent releases and grabs things Sonarr deems wanted (based on settings for the show/qualities/limits). Until it’s grabbing what you want the import process is irrelevant.

This is what the debug log gives me:

|RssSyncService|RSS Sync Completed. Reports found: 100, Reports grabbed: 0|07:07|
|DownloadDecisionMaker|Processing 100 releases|07:07|
|RssSyncService|Starting RSS Sync|07:07|
|RssSyncService|RSS Sync Completed. Reports found: 100, Reports grabbed: 0|06:52|
|DownloadDecisionMaker|Processing 100 releases|06:52|
|RssSyncService|Starting RSS Sync|06:52|

100 found, nothing grabbed…

I checked the rss feed by hand, and found … nothing indeed. Must have been a glitch right in the time frame where the show should have been in the feed. Auto search for monitored episodes works. I’ll see how this works out the coming days.
