Newbie help with Remote Path Mappings

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.4753
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS:
Description of issue:

I’m doing some “test” and trying to understand sonarr. I have Sonarr on a Windows VM and uTorrent +WebUI on a OSX VM. Right now it seems that Sonarr is getting the bittorrent path of the OSX “/Volumes/bittorrent”. So I am assuming I need to use the Remote Path Mappings to correctly help Sonarr to “resolve” the issue?

This is how I have it, and is this the right way to enter those path?

Host: osx-vm-01 (actual hostname of VM)
Remote Path: /Volumes/bittorrent (OSX Root path)
Local Path: \\media\bittorrent\ (SMB Root path)

Is that the same as the host field you set when you added uTorrent to Sonarr?

Otherwise that looks correct (as long as \\media\bittorrent points to the files uTorrent downloaded).

yes the Download Client host field is also set to ‘osx-vm-01’

I guess my next question is.

let say osx-vm-01 can be resolved to 192.168.1.201

If I use 192.168.1.201 in the Download Client Host, can I still use osx-vm-01 in the Remote Path Mapping since the host osx-vm-01 can be resolve to 192.168.1.201 or vise versa

My question is, does the field “host” is name/character specific? or does it actually try to resolve an IP address?

It is name/character specific, it is not resolved to an IP.
