New Install but no empty folders

I just installed Sonarr on a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 linux. In Settings>Media Management>Folders I have the option to create empty series folders set to yes, and I manually created the root folder. When I added all of my tv shows, the empty folders were not created. There was a warning message in the logs for each show that the root folder was empty. I tried a couple of things to get Sonarr to create all of the series folders, but nothing worked until I created a dummy folder in the root folder. I suppose I could have just created a folder for one of the existing shows, but I just called it “asdf”. When I did that, and then ran update series, all of the show folders got created.

Is this a bug in Sonarr, or a “quirk” of Ubuntu 16.04, or ???

Also maybe worthy of note, when I ran the software update for linux this morning, there were updates for mono. The version prior to the update was 4.2.1.102, and now its version is 4.2.3.4. The update had no apparent effect on this issue.

Sonarr version is 2.0.0.4146

Add a single folder to that root folder manually, its trying to detect if the folder is valid and checks the contents to see if there is anything or if its possibly a mount thats disconnected and has no content.
