Hi, I setup the new completed download handling and it kinda works, kinda doesn’t.
I saw in my NZBGet queue that a bunch of shows had finished downloading and I got no Pushover notifications for them. I found that weird, so I checked my /downloads/.dronecomplete folder and they were all there. I moved them to my droneFACTORY folder /downloads/.dronefactory and rescanned the folder and they all came shooting in and moved into my TV Shows directory like usual.
I just want to make sure I did this right. Originally, I had a “TV Shows” category, which send the files to the dronefactory folder (/downloads/.dronefactory). When the new Handling option was released, I made a new category in NZBGet called “TV Shows2” with output folder of ‘/downloads/.dronecomplete’ and then repointed NZBDrone to use that Category. Then I enabled the new handling, and left Dronefactory enabled also.
Does it sound like I set it up right? I just find it weird that Dronefactory was able to pick up all the shows when I moved them into that folder, but nothing happened when they landed in the new folder.
Could someone just really briefly explain how this new handling works?
Does NZBDrone query NZBGet and ask it “Hey, what folder are you going to be placing that download in?” and NZBGet tells him “Well, that category puts the file in /downloads/.dronecomplete, by the way, the download is finished, go ahead!” and that’s how it knows where to find the downloaded file so quickly?
I just don’t see any relation other then that. How does it know about the new download folder otherwise?
Thanks for the help. I will keep an eye on it for the next day or two and run some more tests.

Sounds like everything has been setup correctly.

Its done how you describe, drone checks with get and moves it when its complete.
Are drone and get on the same machine?
Has completed download handling been enabled?
Does the category exist exactly the same in get as entered in drone (case sensitive)
Do downloads show up in History → Queue in drone (they should, even if they aren’t imported).
If you enable Debug logging you will see the import process run (every minute) and try to import completed downloads. We are working on exposing this in the UI in a future version (the reason why it failed to import).
is NZBGet actually any good? noticed a lot of people starting to use it i am still with sabnzbd and have no issues so haven’t bothered to switch however i did take a small look at an earlier version but was more comfortable with sabnzbd as i have used it for years so went back to that
I’ve actually heard that question a couple of times. Personally I don’t use NzbGet extensively yet (only during development of CDH) but it feels faster.
Once v13.0 is out, it might become worth it to evaluate it.
